Just wondering what would cause this, Grease Filled Die?

On the designers initials on the reverse the G is in pretty good condition but the F is barely visible. Because of the way it is tucked into that spot wasn't sure why only the F is affected. Just curious if anyone knows.

Thank you very mcuh

The F is recessed in the die, and was full of grease.

Sometimes they are polished away. But yours is mostly there.

Do you the mean the F and G are gone from over polishing of the die like what happens with Abe in the memorial?

But here on this half the "F" lookiing the way it does is from Grease Fill?

Thanks again

The F is partially missing because of grease. If it was polished off, the other parts of it wouldn't be as sharp. If Abe is missing, he probably went out the back door.
