If I was to frame some stock certificates I imagine wood would give off gas so sterling silver or aluminium for the border. The glass should be glazed to protect from UV light and I would need matting to prevent the seal from being smushed by the glass...

Should I just use a comic book back board instead? I really want to hang them but not as much as I want to preserve them.

Seems like the sort of thing that the paper money folks might know best. Have you asked there?

In world money? I was torn between there, here and exonumia. If it would get more traction there the moderators know best.

Just use archival quality backboard and uv resistant glass. Simple. And sterling sounds good for the frame plus it adds a touch of class which compliments stock certs well. Just be warned that you'll have to polish them occasionally

Please understand that some stock certificates are worth some serious money so before framing, I would find out if they are worth anything as you may not want to display it...

We can leave it here for a while. If you feel like it would be better in another forum, click on Report Post (lower right corner of each post/reply) and let us know you want it moved.
