This 1990 is practically BU, but I have had a change the coloring a bit on my program so I could photograph it with out the glare of the orange shininess.

At about the 2 and 3 o'clock positions there are some markings that I am not familiar with.

Could these represent the Die Attrition marks or possibly die gauge/scratch?

What could have caused it to happen?

Thanks

Those are die dents. The die was dropped on an edge, that dented the outside of the die. That dent now on the die, leaves a raised area on the coins struck.

Thanks coop, I have seen that as one of the possible die markers on many of the DDO / DDR varieties.

They are handy for die markers, but not much premium on these beyond that.

Of course when I need a die dent, it can't be found - then I get 2 on coin. That's how it goes sometimes.
