Question: Do some of the 2.5 gold Indian coins have the lower part of their dates slightly missing? I have a graded 2.5 gold Indian and it appears to me that when struck, the bottom of the coin was simply too long? I'll try to get a picture but maybe someone knows what I'm talking about. I hope this isn't the sign of a fake in a PCGS holder :'(

You really need a picture to get an answer.

Usually, when the design is falling off the edge, that is a sign of a fake. Pictures will help determine if the coin is fake or has a MAD or was struck a little off-center.

I've been doing lots of research on these, my friend at the LCS told me to stay away if the date was cut off. He said was a sign of a fake and wasn't worth the risk.

Very hard to tell without a pic. Some are struck off center. If it is in an older holder, you might just not be able to see it all, as the holder covers some of the coin.
