I remember reading on CCF once that all 1888s have some form of doubling but doubling on the 3rd 8 is less common. Just started picking up a few large cents here and there. Can anyone give me some info on this Large Cent?
Thanks for looking!

This will be 8/8 No.4 in my book (of eight total types). Somewhat scarce. R4 on Sheldon scale.

Great pickup. Hold onto it.

Thanks for the info c-v. I haven't sold a coin yet so it's safe to say I will be keeping this one. I've picked my LCS clean of 5 cent varieties, I think I may start on the Large Cents. That thick 4 you posted is something I'll be looking for this weekend.

This is one of my favourite "under the radar" varieties...
