My smallest coin is 1 nuevo peso from Uruguay, from 1989, 12 mm diameter. Not a very nice coin as the ones showing around here!

The coin in the middle is 15 mm wide and weighs 0.98 g. It is an 1863 1/1000 Hongkong dollar ("1 mil"), intended to be equivalent to a Chinese cash coin (shown to the right). Making properly aligned square holes in a struck coin was too difficult. A round hole in a marked square had to do.
