I've realized that this post is my first in six months, and that all I said back then was about what I'm going to say now - that I'm still collecting - sort of.

It's been a busy year, with school now and college looming in the future.

I've still got all of my coins and the associated paraphernalia, but I have no idea when I will next pursue the hobby with the sort of vigor that I once did. Perhaps I'll buy a few penny boxes next week.

I just wanted to stop by and say thanks for all of the help that this site has given me over the last four (!) years. I would have never been able to attain the level of knowledge that I now possess without the help of the wonderful people on this forum.

Best of luck in school! It's a great hobby because it has such history to it and it will always be there for you to come back to. And you don't miss anything while you are gone. It's not like a softball team that you miss practice a bunch of times and you're out of the sport. I spent about ten years from high school until 30 not actively collecting. I'd put away a few coins I found in circulation. Always pull out silver from rolls of quarters, or wheat pennies and it wasn't until my grandfather passed and I was asked to inventory his coins for the family that I got back into it. It may fade again for me once I have kids in a few years but I'm sure I will pick it back up some day, crack open the safe and add new coins to the pile.

The good thing about this hobby is that you can always come back and the great thing about THIS forum is you are always welcomed back. Starting college can be an extremely exiting time, there is so much to learn and do. And you may find that you coin collecting interest expand as your world expands. We all go through periods of extreme active participation and then pulling back for one reason or another...well all of us except for JBuck. That dude is a machine! Once he was two hours late posting on GTP and we almost sent out a search party.

Good luck on your upcoming endeavors!

You still have all your coins, they don't take up much room they don't eat anything so, you are way ahead.

Put everything away and enjoy your school years coins will always be there when you're ready again.
Good luck.

Store your collection wisely, multiple moves during and after college, things had a way of disappearing.
