Hi - I know almost nothing about coin collecting and what info to provide. We got a bunch of these in a jewelry auction and want to know if it's a real coin, token, or what. It appears to be brass, but I suppose it could be gold. Sorry for the lack of info, but like I said, I'm not even a novice at this. Any clues ideas would be appreciated.

Hello and welcome.

Sorry, but your "coin" is not even a "replica". It's a game piece from the "Dread Pirate" board game. You can tell by the way the castles in the cross have transmogrified into a "DP" monogram, plus if you read the legend around the edges, you'll find it says "DREADPIRATE" instead of the Spanish king's name and titles.

We've seen them several times on the forum before; once they get separated from the game, I imagine they can easily cause quite a bit of confusion. Here's another, posted last year.
Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis

Thanks Sap. Thanks, I liked Ocala's answer better, but it is what it is.
