This coin came into my possession today and I can not find any information about it on the Internet. Would anyone be able to lend a hand and help me figure out what it says and where it is minted and a possible value for it. Much thanks!

Not an official coin as far as I am aware, but probably a novelty/bullion round. You see a LOT on ebay every day. My guess would be silver with a little gold plating around the middle. Of course, these do come in the "silver and gold plated stainless steel" flavor as well. First and most importantly, does a magnet stick to the coin?

It is a medal commemorating the dragon which is one of the 12 animals of the Chinese zodiac.

A similar but not identical specimen may be seen here.

The obverse side is identical and the medal was apparently made by China Coins Limited.

The reverse side has an almost identical image of a dragon. However, the Chinese inscription around the rim is different.

The inscription on the reverse of your specimen names the 12 animals of the zodiac written in seal script.

The inscription on the reverse of the other specimen translates as "China's exquisite zodiac" and is dated 1998.

The year 1998 was actually the year of the tiger so the medal must have been one of a set of 12 zodiac animals minted that year.

Your medal is undated.

The description for the other medal mentions that the center is .999 gold plated.

I was not able to find out any additional information concerning your medal.
