I think I found my first good hit (it's probably really common and I'm weird...)
1988D with 1989 transitional reverse.
Initial's spacing further away from base and G has a heavy edge

That is a RDV-005 the correct one for that year. The RDV-006 is the one we seek:
1988-D-Transitional-Reverse

Note the tops of the 'G' and the location of the 'FG'.
