If this coin took a hit where did the displaced metal come from lol all letters next to it look normal to me. Again I'm no expert something is just not clicking in my head

I think much of it came from the E. I also think a BIE has to be on a cent. On a quarter it would just be a chip. JMO

I think it is a die chip that was hit and spread a bit. Not a pretty site.

I looked it up, Nyfireman, a BIE coin is exclusive to cents. So I guess you got yourself an Impaired Die Chip there. I agree with Coop, it's an ugly one. lol
