US Mint - Silent B-Roll of the U.S. Mint in Denver from May 1949. Special thanks to the National Archives for preserving and helping to locate this footage.

The US Mint has been good about putting out information and videos of modern coin production. This is cool too - hopefully there is more; there has to be!

This video mostly focuses on the casting stage of production, as I never really saw the blanks being punched out of the casting nor the coins being weighed, counted, and bagged. Still a cool piece of production history.

The video shows casting, rolling, and finally punching of silver blanks - everything up to actual striking.
