Purchased this one for my type set. It has its issues but I thought it was a pretty good example and the price didn't break me. What grade would you give it?

Classic Fine sharpness, but cleaned.
1808 is actually a tougher date, it's hard to find this date in really sharp condition. 1804 is the most common date for this type, or if you ever decide to have a Mint State coin in your type set, chances are it will be an 1806.
I've been collecting type coins for about 50 years.

I think the reverse could bring this into a VF20 details cleaned holder. These seem to get a little TPG bump.

F-15 details. Cleaned yet has decent eye appeal for a coin w/problems.

Thanks for the comments everybody. It looks good and blends nicely with the other early coppers in my 7070. I am satisfied for $80.

One little fact you might enjoy if you look at the date of the coin closely is the way the second "8" was punched into the die. It was made by stacking two small "o"s on top of each other. According to the late Roger Cohen this indicated a lack of respect on the part of mint employees at the time for the Half Cent. You might also note that the first "8" is normal. This shows the mint practice of making dies with first three digits of the date entered and then the dies were placed in storage for later use. When they were put into the production, the last digit was added to the date. Quite often that digit was not the same style as the first three. I can post photos of this on other early U.S. coins.

Bill....Very interesting. Thanks for sharing that bit of history about this coin. I must admit...I had no idea about this when I purchased it!
