I have been looking for the 1976 Montreal olympic EMPTY 28 coin case or any other empty montreal olympic coin cases everywhere now. To my suprise I cannot seem to find any available online and was wondering if anyone was selling or had any luck finding any?

Thanks in advance

My LCS would probably just toss those cases, since the Olympic series is usually sold for melt, and many of his customers are indifferent about the cases.

So I am thinking that your LCS might do the same, so perhaps if you told them you could get it at a low or no cost.

I've noticed those empty cases sold from time to time in online coin auctions, possibly keep an eye on iCollector. Otherwise you could try emailing the larger Cdn dealers - J and M, Gatewest, Colonial Acres or Cdn Coins and Currency for example because they all advertise they buy estate lots. I'd imagine they'd be apt to buy melt as well.

In Canada it costs a fortune to ship the case via post. Check with a local coin shop or advertise on Craig's list to buy one.
When I had my shop we junked them in the recycle bin. No demand.

I saw one of these go on ebay the other day. I think the sale price was around $7 but shipping was another $32. I agree with oriole though, I would check your LCS first and will probably find a better deal.

Yeah they are surprisingly hard to find. If anyone comes across any of them at a reasonable price (I dont want to pay 30$ for shipping haha) please let me know and/or link the site on this topic. It would be greatly appreciated. I am looking for the full 28 coin case. The only one I can find is 40$ on ebay before 20$ shipping, which I find is too overprices for a case they throw out regularly...
