I'm looking for a silver coin that depicts the she wolf suckling Romulus and Remus. I need a second opinion or someone that can point me in the direction of something like this ebay add...Is this a fair price? it's one of the nicer examples I've found.

Any and All info is greatly appreciated!!

Not a bad price for a silver wolf and twins coin, if you go for the bronze pieces issued by the Constantinian family in the 330's, they can be had in decent condition from $10 and up if you shop around. They are usually referred to as city commemoratives or VRBS ROMA pieces.

Badgermint, thanks for the info/quick reply! I think I'm going to stick to a silver coin (just fixed my original post). I can't seem to find any examples better than this coin for the price..I checked VCOIN but nothing really caught my eye.

This would be a nice coin if it wasn't for the large chip and the reverse being off centered. Here is a selection from Vcoins.

Yes that chip would bug me too. I'd say take another look at vcoins or else wait for a better example.

I'm not in love with that coin, even if it was lower priced.

I would wait for a nicer example, myself.
