I told him my whole computer has been changed. he informed me yes ASUS format has been changed by windows 10. I have been told give it 24 hrs. everything should come back. I certainly hope so. be careful if you get informed that you need to shut down for updates. I know this is for photos but we all need to be aware. for my self there is no going back

well actually so of the photos. I am checking they look better. than I had them. so what ever they have for a program. the photo look sharper and alittle better focused. I have most of my original images on an external hard drive. I am presently comparing. them on a lap top that is not connected to the net. the few I had copies of on my computer and this hard drive. the ones that have been changed looks better. so this might be a plus. I no longer have my favorites tool bar. I hope my son can fix this. I will say every thing is different. just have to learn how to use it

just got into the photo editing program. what a program this is quit the program. it even allow you to change focus of the image. I will see if I can find stacking or blending in this program. if you don't wish for your photos. to open in this new program all you have to do is right click. then select where you want to open them. this is not to bad. there is a lot more option for editing photo with this program.

The so-called computer technician is at best uninformed, at worst an idiot. There is NOTHING in Windows 10 that changed your photos. Now there are new programs being used to DISPLAY the photos, so the screen will LOOK different. These newer display programs also may be doing a better job of mapping the photo to fit in the screen. So the photo itself may look better. Remember, the photo may be 3000x2000 pixels but the screen is only 1920x1080. Since the ratios aren't exactly 2:1 there is process going on to combine and split pixels to create the image being displayed. Some older display programs did a really bad (but fast) process. Others did it better but slower. With modern computers being much faster, the defaults are to the more complex but better methods - which show up as sharper picture on the screen. T-BOP - if you have a legal, licensed copy of Windows 7 or 8.1 (I think 8 works, if not there's a free upgrade 8->8.1 which can then be upgraded to 10), the upgrade is free (at least until some time this summer). https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/win...s-10-upgrade

T-Bop upgrade came with my windows 8 (had no idea when I bought it) upgraded day it came out.
I do suggest you keep using Internet Explorer (DL newest version if necessary) for your web browser. The one they switch you to is kinda funky.

If you are thinking about up grading copy your computer every thing you have on it. my son has told me. the items I had in favorites is not coming back. he said the driver that they removed will not be back. he said windows 10 there is a reason for this program. that we will all learn a bite later what its about. burton you are right it is just the way they are now displaying the images. they do appear different on my computer. the photos are automatically opening in there program. if you want them to open else where. you have to select them. then open them there. but the photo program is different with a lot more option from what I had before.

Microsoft? Don't be surprised if sometime in the near future you will be required to pay a monthly or annual fee for the use of their operating system and other software. Microsoft's game plan, from Office to Xbox to Windows 10, is to get users to think of its products as services, and to subscribe rather than to pay one time.

Microsoft will have to pry my Windows 7 from my cold dead hands.
