Thanks moxking, I already have dumped 6000 bucks worth at local dealers, and already know exactly what everything is selling for
B Strauss3, I have no desire for the owners of this site to do anything, I simply asked a question, and everyone's words are exactly the same as a less honest person would use
Thanks to those asking for photos, I don't think I'm allowed ... that would be selling ?

Cladking, I have hundreds of Clad Mints sets going back to 1970
This site does not allow me to send E-mails, and I'm not sure I can post photos
Thanks for the interest

thanks fioti ... certainly one more good location out of what seems endless interpretations of just about everything in this coin business One thing I've certainly discovered, is that everything in the coin business, seems directed at messing with the naive collector Dealers wanting to buy everything at 30 percent behind Greysheet Bid It's like every other collectible or Antique business "IT AIN'T WORTH NOTHIN' WHEN YOU SELLING, YET EVERYTHING WHEN YOU'RE BUYING" ...

Paradis Not sure if I am picking up on your replies, but you seem bitter. I do hope I am wrong with that.
There are two basic to coins. As a hobby As a business, or at least to make money.
Most of the long time members here on CCF are in it for the hobby. As with most hobbies, most of the time you don't make money on the collections that are put together. If you are collecting cars, guns or knives, for example, when a collector decides to leave the hobby they don't alway make a profit of what they collected. Of course sometimes they do ... But more often they don't.
In my opinion here we mostly like to share our collection. It is good to see how and what others are putting together. We post pictures when we start or finish a set of coins, and look for ideas what to do next.
One of the hard things to learn about this hobby is how to buy and sell.
Local coin shop dealers are a important part of maintaining the hobby. But they have a lot of expense to keep a shop open. I don't know how a shop can make it by buying coins at only 30% back of greysheet.
Just think about it, for every 100k in business expense a shop has, if they we're paying 10% back of greysheet, they would have to do a million in sales just to make expenses. Most coin shops do not stay in business because they can not do enough sales.
About anywhere go to sell your coins there will be a cost to do it. Online sales or auctions, they all want their cut. Even if you find another collector to sell to, they will want a deal. -----------------------
