3 more schools this morning. 2 I had been to about 2 weeks ago and pulled out almost 3 dollars between the 2. The 3rd one was new where I had my most finds of the day. I'm thinking the ring is silver although it is not marked. Found it about 5 inches down and came out pretty clean.

Also found a 1919 penny that is in good shape. Must of been newly dropped.

I think I have metal detector shoulder the thing is killing me. Had to cut the last stop short after about 2 hours. Couldn't take it anymore.

No silver coins yet this year. Still waiting for the first one. Although I have been finding silver jewelery.

I know what you mean about the time and effort. I usually get out just as the sun comes up so I don't blow the whole day away. Always something else to do.

If the 1919 is the one on the left, it sure doesn't show much weathering. Nice find!
That cut nickel is intriguing too.

Thanks all and yes that is the 1919 on the left. Too clean to have been out there for any length of time. The nickel had me going until I got home and gave it a good look. Obviously been cut with some type of cutter.

Once again nice haul SY.

I'm not too familiar with the Prizm, but are the electronics non-detachable?
Would be nice if you could detach the electronics and hip-mount it to eliminate the strain on the arms. Another aid is placing a velcro strap over the forearm for more support, but I can't see that reducing the strain on the shoulder.

Hey deadmunny, the electronic unit is a small one and doesn't seem to be feasible to try and detach it. It does have a velcro strap for the forearm but I do not use it. Maybe I should give it a try. Can't hurt I guess. I recently upgraded the coil on it and I can tell that it is heavier than the original one that came on it. Ah who knows just have to suck it up and take it like a man I guess.

Try a bungee cord over the shoulder. It will take some of the weight off your arm. Adjust it to the right length and it will hold your detector at the right hight and all you need to do is swing.

Thanks for that tip Richard. Wasn't even thinking that route. I have some shoulder straps per say from weedeaters and such. Maybe one of those might work. Have to see if I can make any of those to work.

I have tried all of the strap stuff ,,they don't work well ,,But they do make a hip mount that some find some success with .

I don't know if they make one for your particular machine or not .

Thats one of the reasons when my old whites finally gives up, I will be looking at the mine lab stuff they make some very good detectors without the electronics on the stem .

Can't seem to get the straps to work just the way I wanted. Oh well. Close but just not right.

When I upgrade the weight will definitely be a major factor with the purchase. Alot of nice ones out there. It's months down the road or maybe not so I have time to check them all out.
