I've never seen this on a 47 nickel the extra lines running above the water lines and through K.G.
Has anyone an example of this one to post?
The DC continues to the hair although it's difficult to see without being in hand.

Nice die crack. Some sort of die scratches, perhaps, on the reverse?

Thanks chequer, yeah it's nicely defined. The lines on the back are nowhere else on the coin, I'd thought they may have been from polishing or a file but they are sort of intermittent in a few spots.

I don't have a book showing Zoell varieties, if I could ask if anyone do'es could they see if this is a recognized minor variety, tyia.

The reverse almost looks the same as the die gouges on a 1950 Logs on Island Silver Dollar Charlton REV007. The obverse die crack on yours is known . Interesting nickel!

Ty Pacific and for the comparison I'll have to look @ the 1950 in the book.

What do you think caused the lines? It sounds like the same thing that caused the lines in the 50 dollar.

I was wondering about the extra lines if perhaps that was documented by Zoell as a minor variety.....
