Just won this from ebay for $102, obviously has some issues but looks F/VF details. What do you think? Needed it to fill the hole, just missing a few other dates like 14D, 15S etc.

"Details" is correct. The coin has almost a full horn, but it's also got corrosion spots. For your sake I hope they are dormant. I know it fills a hole, but I tend to stay away from "details" coins unless I can't do any better. Even then I'm more likely to say I can do without it unless I am very much "bitten by the bug."

The trouble with "details" coins is that they are like going to the prom with your sister or mother. When all of the other guys are moving up, you are not going up very far or not going up at all. "Yes, but ..." coins are hard to sell unless it is a very "up market."

I don't like being so negative, but I think other collectors should keep this advice in mind.

Any other opinions? Also saved $20 bucks via ebay bucks so I'm into it $85 actually.
Rest in Peace

All my Buffalo nickels are raw as I cannot afford mint state Buffalo nickels, same applies to my Wheat cent project. All my Morgan's are certified only due to many fakes being out there, I'll give it a dip of acetone and perhaps verdicare if needed upon further inspection. Just a few dates left, and then focusing on finishing my Standing Liberty quarters (just need 17d t2, 1919d and s, 20d, 21 and 23s

I don't think we're talking about the need for mint state coins here. The issue is whether or not it's a good idea to spend money on a problem coin rather than a little more for a nice one, and some of us are just agreeing with billjones here. If you're happy, that's what counts!
