Double rolling through the casting machine (edge mill) was my first thought. The problem is that the edge itself is on a single plane that is square with BOTH faces of the coin.
The application does not have a trace of priority where you could say that one half overlays the other half.
When viewed under various levels of microscopy it appears that the edge was applied as it is seen in one pass not two.
I still have no solution that works in my opinion.
