I was wondering if this is an error or damage on the date of this coin. If it's an error is there any value to it?

Thanks for your help

First thing the knowledgeable ones are going to tell you, larger picture is needed. If you can post a larger picture of the date area, it sure would help.

Zach, no disrespect meant.

Hi Fiddler,

There is a depression above the 1 and the appearance of metal having been moved in the areas of the 1 and the 9.

I call these a post mint damage of unknown origin. That means that the coin was damaged in some way that is impossible to identify specifically.

It's not an error or a variety though.

Thanks,
Bill
