In this thread (
https://goccf.com/t/259315#2187581 ) we went a little off topic and started discussing how to make an adapter for Old OLympus OM lenses.
My description of what I did wasn't adequate and rather than go completely off topic I thought I would post what I did ( with some pictures) in a separate thread.
First some background, Olympus produced some phenomenal Bellows lenses, unfortunately it is very hard to find adapters that will enable you to mount those lenses to Old Minolta Canon FD and, I assume Nikon, bellows. My first adapter was very complicated being constructed of an Om- MFT adapter the front element of an MFT extension ring set and a variety of stepping rings connecting to a 52 mm MInolta Reversing ring. that adapter worked but added to the extension. My second adapter was much simpler and very easy to construct. I had an old OM 14mm Extension ring:

The above is a picture of that extension ring showing the lens mount side. To make the adapter I had to change the camera mount side. I removed the OM mount ( just involved removing 3 screws( In the link; in error I said there were four). I then dismantlement the mechanism for operating the aperture, and then filled the gap( it wasn't large) that was left with epoxy resin (that I had colored black).
I then used a M42 to Minolta MD adapter to provide the Minolta MD mount that would allow that extension ring to attach to my bellows. If I was using a canon bellows I would have used a M42 to Canon FD adapter. I drilled three holes in that adapter counter sunk them and then screwed the M42 - Minolta MD adapter onto the Extension ring. This is the result:

I hop this clarifies what I did. The M42 thread in the M42- Minolta MD adapter is not used at all.
