Danbury Mint "Land of the Free" Quarters Slam Collectors in the Pocket Book
http://www.coinweek.com/education/c...pocket-book/

People due fall for this type of hyped up products on a massive scale. The local coin shops I frequent are flooded with people that have purchased coins offered in magazines, newspapers, and from telemarketers. Most of them don't leave very happy and are permanently turned off the hobby. Make sure you warn family members or any friends that are coin-inclined about these advertising techniques.

Ouch.

Eventually one of these customers or their heir will land here asking how much they are worth.

I really hate when people make their living intentionally ripping people off. It makes me sick. Taking advantage of the uneducated and elderly who are looking to invest their money. Tricking somebody into wasting their money is the same is stealing from them in my mind, there are just laws designed for them to be able to do it. If you cheat enough people though, you will find yourself constantly looking over your shoulder. Karma has a way of finding these scumbags.

When somebody on ebay lists a damaged coin as a rare error (maybe on purpose, maybe not knowing) it's one thing. But Danbury is a huge company doing this on a mass scale. It's disgusting.

'Karma has a way of finding these scumbags'. HAHAHA just like god punishes those who are bad. HAHAHA.

it's all based on the description. I noticed some of the comments in this forum show that people CLEARLY did not read the descriptions. Make sure you read description and not base an item being sold just on the title alone (which many fools do for some reason?). That is completely foolish. Fact, if you buy an unsearched roll and resell it. You can say the roll is unsearched BY YOU, which some sellers state in their description. While I don't support scamming in anyway (I rip scammers off XD), not all are scams, it's just not read properly.

Important note about ebay. Report EVERYTHING! enough reports on one person closes their accounts (I've done this twice now to con artists). a report does NOT hurt an account, it's just a record to see how the are operating. if they see a constant habit, they take action.
