Wife and I made a nice day trip to Jefferson's Monticello and turns out there are actually 7 steps

I'm a bit of a history nerd so I really enjoyed myself. Thought I would share a few pictures.

They were also selling coins in their gift shop, so I ended up buying an 1856 large cent for $15 to commemorate the trip. Actually what caught my eye was that the coin had abnormally raised edges and from an edge view had a hammered copper look like they do with mugs. It's definitely PMD, reminded me of modern day Dryer Coins. Not sure why someone would alter a coin in that way. Has anyone seen something like that before?

Did they have the machine that you put 51 cents in and spin the wheel to get the long token thing? (Don't know the name of it)

Do you have a pic of the 1856 large cent you could post?

I don't recall seeing one, although the gift shop area was huge, it's possible they had one. Next time we go I'll keep a look out.

Yes, I'll upload them tonight. I wasn't sure if I should post them here or in classic coins.
