I would like to propose a slight revision to the counterfeit forums "forum description" and operation.
1) Instead of "forum description", perhaps it should read "forum instructions", to attract more attention to those intending to post there. It currently starts off with "Post suspected counterfeits....", and that sentence makes the reader believe that the paragraph really is just a
description of the forum, and not something that might contain instructions for posting there. The brain tells the reader - oh, you don't need to read all this, this is just a description.
2)The current "instructions" are --
Please start every topic with the word Counterfeit and be very specific with the type of coin/currency and do not use abbreviations or acronyms. Please grab a picture/pictures and upload it here.a) The current instructions do not require an
ebay item number or link to a seller's counterfeit items. (without this reference, one must search
ebay with other clues left by the poster, if any)
b) The current instructions do not require the
ebay seller name. (without the seller name, it is difficult or impossible to follow up to see if the seller relisted it or has other counterfeits)
c) The current instructions do not require any narrative as to why the item is being posted in a counterfeit forum. (without a narrative, one must sometimes guess why the poster thinks the item is counterfeit, and leads to sometimes unanswered questions by forum members, such as
https://goccf.com/t/259523)3) You have a sentence that says posts that do not conform to your requirements will be removed without notice (with no exceptions/excuses listed), but there are posts that do not meet your requirements that are not deleted. Perhaps these are just by new posters just learning their way around. But I remember first posting here and I stepped on a rule and got severely scolded. I learned my lesson

4) Finally, I would like to suggest that you please not lock posts quite so quickly. Once they are gone from the first report, sellers very frequently "keep the topic going" by relisting the removed counterfeit. There are current topics that are locked in less than 48 hours from the time someone notes that the item has been removed. On numerous occasions, posters have had to start new topics on the same seller and same counterfeit coin because the old topic was locked. It is a small matter, but it would cut down on duplicate posts like that. Perhaps 3 full days after it has been noted "gone"?
Respectfully submitted,
Norm
