Quote: Anyone collect them or have any? I just wanna know what people think of em. they are nice coins, in the 2011-2012 the design was the best. It called " Fiju Taku" (now the name changed)

It's a young set that goes back to 2010 and all can be grabbed pretty cheap compared to modern day 2016 coin. I thought about grabbing a couple to see if I could complete the set. I wonder if the series will go on for a long time. Do you think it will continue to go on?

You can get the 1oz issued from 2011 onward from JMB pretty cheaply: http://www.jmbullion.com/search/?q=taku&x=0&y=0http://www.jmbullion.com/search/?q=turtle&x=0&y=0The 2010 is a tad expensive, but I saw the odd one popping up on ebay for <$40. Patience... There are also 1/2oz, 2oz (true Piedfort coins), and 5oz versions, but not for all years. It's difficult to obtain mintage figures for prior years. Hence, paying a steep premium for any of these may not be justified. For bullion investment purposes, I'd recommend sticking to the 1oz and 2oz releases. I like the 5oz though as the size does the design more justice - the 2016 is still available for a halfway decent premium (comes in capsule): http://www.apmex.com/product/97109/...ll-turtle-buI paid $100.05 on Apr01 - which seems like a joke now. ;)

Only the 1oz set. The rest are too difficult to get hold of and come with a huge premium which is not justified.

Do you know if the gold glided ones are released by the mint or if some third part takes a legitimate silver taku and gold glides them? Do you have any of the gold glided ones? Yeah I will haunt ebay to try and get a 5 oz one if I can get one close to around 100 110 or so. Paying close to 150 for 5 ounces when silver is just under 18 an ounce is unjustified.

The gilded ones were issued by the New Zealand Mint and come in nice packaging. But these are numismatic and cost a lot more. There was one issued with just the Taku and another one with a baby Taku as well - all gilded.
