Here is a classic Barber that I got for $23.95, and given the steep price increases from G/VG to Fine, VF, and EF, a coin on the middle of this range for a small fraction of the EF price seems to attract me, especially with LIBERTY mostly complete. This definitely looks original in terms of surface, but I'm not sure if the obverse marks would knock this down to a Details grade. Given that this is around the 95th/96th percentile of all Barber halves in their given grade, I decided to purchase this. The light scratch marks look much more pronounced on the photos than they actually appear in person. Was this a fair deal, or should I return it? Edited by yelimsexa 05/02/2016 9:03 pm

yes quite possibly a details grade, those scratches are way to deep and pronounced to be from simple circulation..

VF details, obverse graffiti. It's hard to put a value on this type of coin but I think you got a reasonably good deal.

VF-20 details here as well; not a particularly good value, imo.
