Doesn't specify a redeemable amount, so possibly just sold as a souvenir? Regardless, this would seem to be a pretty common item. Still a fun find from the "junk" bin.

It really depends on your definition. If you stick with the generally accepted definition of token, I don't think that this would qualify as a token. As you've mentioned, it doesn't state a particular value and doesn't appear that it served a purpose of exchange.

I would call it a medal. I just had a Wall Drug medal I sold on ebay - it had the dinosaur on the reverse.

The reason I said it's a token is because it is listed on a token site. I think it is a medal since it has no known face value on it.

If it is anything it is a souvenir medal from the world famous Wall drug. There are a number of different designs on one side, Ted Hustead was the founder of the free ice water after he bought Wall drugs to promote the business. There are a number of the tokens,with assorted South Dakota attractions and wall drugs advertising on the other they also are in brass and a white metal alloy. They also have or had penny elongated arcade machines too.
