I am usually able to ID coins between ebay, NGC and the web but this one has me stumped.

I think the characters are Japanese and it looks like a rising sun. Can anyone help?

Bingo and thanks! I come across quite a few Cinese coins but this one I have not seemn even though it is apparently common.....
