I have a 1981 Type 2 proof set and I cannot get the thing to take a good picture. ebay has cancelled my listing twice now and I am getting frustrated. I know the case is what's getting in the way, but is there any way to get past this without cracking the set? I have already tried the scanner and digital camera.

Philney,

Is the problem from glare? If it is, try shooting through angled glass (there was a thread on this about three weeks ago with pics of the set-up). You won't be able to use a macro setting because you won't be able to get the lens close enough, but you can shoot the shot with a normal (auto) setting with the highest picture quality setting. Then, crop the shot with the mintmark.

If you could post your photos up so that we can see them, we could help you out better.

Is it Type 2 because it has photo capabilities built in? How many megapixels is it? (sorry, I couldn't resist)
