My son got an eye-clops for Christmas. Its this magnifier that you hook to your TV and the image shows up on the TV. As soon as I saw it I was thinking coins! I don't know who was more exited. Too take a picture I just point the camera at the TV and push the button. It is amazingly easy and helps tremendously for looking at double dies, etc. This is a picture I took for another forum of a possible 1942/1 d overdate dime. Image Insert:

I thought that the eyeclops magnification would be too much. Looks like I was wrong. Darn, and my little girl wanted one for Christmas. Instead, I have to listen to Barbie Island Princess sing that song over and over and over and ........ :(

Thanks a million for that info. I saw an add for that prior to Christmas but missed the name. I went to several toy type stores and toy department in stores asking for that but without a name and/or a good discription, most looked at me as if I was nuts. Now I know it's name and manufacturer so I will go hunting for one again.

Did you notice if you go to that link, there is another close up of a lincoln at the top of the page on the small tv screen and its back to front! Just thought it was interesting?

I bought an eye-clops for coin photos and it is a little awkward to use but results in good magnified photos.

Will one of these things work on a pc screen? If so, then I could print screen and save as a jpg. That would be great!

According to the FAQ on their website: "In order to connect 'eyeclops' to your computer you will need a special video card with RCA inputs..." only a few more until 50!

I do have the video card capable, I got it for gaming and I guess it would work. I have to go to a toy store I guess and get one. THANKS for the reply!

Ha I went to Toys R Us today and bought the only eye clops off the shelf. Took a 1938 D/S out of the box here and got it up on the TV screen. What I need is a vise of some sort so I can hold the coin to the eye clops and take a picture of the TV screen. I have to figure out how to input the yellow video male jack into my PC video card to use my PC. It would be a lot easier if I could just press print screen and then open up paint and make a file rather than the whole TV thing. I'll have to look into this for a adapter or something. This eye clops is limited to 200X-ish size magnification, so getting anything more than good detail of an overdate or double mintmark is pretty much out of the question. You could not get an image of the whole coin. It would be good for jewelry or watches too maybe. My next post here will be an image of that Buffalo nickel I was looking at.

Well, today I packed up the eye clops and took it back fro a refund. My PC video card is a pretty good one for online games and I can hook a TV up to my PC but my card does not have an input for the yello video jack. This is a neat item for someone who likes to look for overdates and double dies and mintmarks but not very easy to capture images like the one I posted above. Back to the drawing board and looking for a lense attachment.
