So...my loose Wheats have always been separated into medium size freezer zip lock bags, and then separated by decade, which are then placed into a large plastic airtight container which USED to hold all of them.
A little bit ago, I weighed the bags. These are just 1950's, 1940's, and 1930's.
All 1909-1929 Wheats are put into coin tubes separate by single year dates and aren't part of this.

TOTAL WEIGHT =

33.2 POUNDS !

If it is $10K wheats, then you got yourself a nice $150 in melt.
Darn it, slamnbass!

Lol, $75 in melt value then, although you could obviously get more buy selling them for $0.03 a piece in bulk... About $150 for 5K common wheats.

My wife just got home from work...she brought me 2 boxes of cents and a box of nickels....lol
So now I will have 4 boxes of cents and 2 boxes of nickels for the weekend.... OH LAWD !
That's a lot to do "if" I get that much time to do it...
Fun happy labor of love though...

P.S.
I was just telling my 11 year old about the loose wheats...sigh..she wasn't impressed and thought they'd be worth HUGE money. I feel as though I'm failing in teaching her about coin collecting....
I told her that whether she likes it or not, she IS going to do a Jefferson coin folder from circulation!
Maybe I should ground her until she says she likes coin collecting! ....

And she's not complaining about hauling around these darn stupid coins..

Must have a good, STRONG wife.
