Next month I'm going to Vegas for a day for work.
It's been a few years since I've been to the casinos, but does anyone have any tips on getting cash straps from the casino windows?
I would like to search for old/error bills, etc.
do they even have cash anymore? Haha.
Thanks,
David

I was up there for fifteen months and during that time picked up several straps in order to feed my Where's George hobby.

I can't answer for the Strip.......I avoided that place like the plague.

Downtown, your best bets, no pun intended, are the Four Queens and the Plaza. The Golden Gate won't do it and two of the Main Street Station cashiers may be resistant.

What's the correct way to ask?
Can I have $100 in ones?

I've politely asked for a full strap of ones and usually gotten them. I was only turned down once, at the Golden Gate; "we don't do that. The most we can let you have is 25".

I should also have suggested the Mermaids. They are closing at the end of June but the lady behind the counter is also helpful.

Are you more likely to find errors in the casinos?

I have got them in Vegas before. The cages have all denominations as people are constantly buying chips, and cashing them out. If you are looking for $1's they usually assume that you are heading to a strip club.

My close friend worked in the cage at the Rio for about a year and had all sorts of currency that he cashed out including a strap of 100 consecutive $2 star notes, and tons of silver certificates and 40% half dollars.
