Hi CanCoinGuy, Welcome to the forum!

Obviously the notes are not the same serial number, and that has been clearly established. It is entirely possible but very rare for this to happen. There was an example of two 1954 $5 notes with the same serial number appearing in the Charlton catalogue. That would be quite the set if both of the serial numbers were the same, but they are still nice regardless.

Yes, there are fibres randomly distributed throughout all banknotes of this series. I believe this is a security feature. You're right that having the fibres in a different location on both banknotes supports that these banknotes are likely not counterfeit (and they look real to me).

This would certainly be true in the case of the Lasting Impression $5 and $10 matching collector sets released by the B.O.C.
