S is to left top of D laying at an angle and it actually looks like two ESSES one on top of the other. Look inside the D. Best pics for now.... G... Believe me when I say that I know how tough it is to get a picture just right. Is there any chance you could try again to get a clearer shot of the MM area. gusp Valued Member United States 288 Posts	Posted 02/20/2008 4:13 pm F.I.R. Not a problem. Tried to take pics last year with 2 meg camera while holding a loop. Took them for insurance purposes. Just beginning to learn to crop. Coin is NGC 67 EDS 1951D and toned. The diagonal S is actually toned darker than the surrounding background and outlines the shape of the S. Pretty coin. If you look closely you can make out the S's metal but there is not too much there. Would probably only show better on an earlier die state coin which, unfortunately, I do not have. Can you tell me if my posted 45S quarter mintmark looks inverted to you? Sometimes the stuff drives me nuts... specially dem nickels!....gusp Report this Post to the Staff

Let the autofocus work for you if the camera has one. I had posted about the quarter under that thread. The pictures just seem to be a tough nut to crack. Not quite enough clarity.
