I have a 1963a $50 bill. From my understanding these didn't have security features as of yet?

My bank atm keeps spitting it out and I'm not sure if it's due to it being fake or too old? And since my atm is spitting it out I'm scared to take it anywhere and trying to cash it. lol.

The only thing I can see are the little fibers throughout but I've heard those were easily faked? I can't remember the last time or if ever I've seen a bill without any kind of security features.

Any help or other info needed just let me know.

The bill is real. You shouldn't have any problems taking it anywhere.. If you really wanted to deposit the note why didn't you just walk inside the bank.. But no doubt, nothing fake about the note.

Haven't had time, get off at 7pm and they're closed. Will have to take it down this weekend. Plus a little paranoid, lol. Not used to the notes without any security features.

You'll be fine. Security features weren't introduced until Series 1990 (the security strip and microprinting around the portrait). Series 1996 was the first of the noncolored large-portrait notes that had the watermark.

The ATM was probably not accepting it due to its lack of a security strip.

I agree with chaser and searcher, the bill appears to be genuine. You just don't see too many small heads in circulation any more. I love the back vignette of the Capital Building on this series.

Absolutely genuine. It's ironic that the one major security feature used on large-size notes (the linen fiber threads) was not used after the change to small-size notes in 1928.
