I just joined the forum so I thought I would introduce myself! I'm Dean from Northern Ohio. Currently I am finishing high school and preparing for college where I plan on getting a degree in History and Education. I've collected coins since I was about 7 when my grandfather let me look through his change and stuck a Buffalo nickel in there for me to find! So this hobby is very near to my heart! I love collecting 19th Century U.S Coinage, as well as Tsarist Russian and Canadian coinage. I'm excited that I found this site, I can't wait to learn more about my hobby and get involved with the community!
Welcome! I spent my wee years in NE Ohio on the edge of Lake Erie. I remember that when school was called on account of snow, we went sledding on the hill in front of the school.
Sledding on the Erie lake ice was fun until you topped a rise and saw a polynya in front of you and had to steer a new course. If you fell in you might find the water 10 to 15 feet below the ice.
I got my biblical beast of burden whupped once for sledding on the ice hours before it broke up. Definitely deserved.
History is a vast area, where do you wish to concentrate? Make sure to get your castration before going into teaching...
lol that's awesome I enjoy going up to the lake! I'm concentrating in U.S. history, right now I want to obtain a double major in American history and integrated social studies education. So eventually I would like to teach high school.
