1989 American Silver Eagle / ASE Bs Possible Doubled Die Obverse / DDO ?

Cross-eyed Pillar of the Community United States 849 Posts	Posted 05/20/2016 09:42 am As far as I know,ASE's,have only a few errors on them.With that in mind,I don't normally look very close at them.But, the other day I went looking through the ones I have and found this.(see picture)It has what looks like MD to the back of the head and cap.The thing is...I have five of them with the exact same error. The question I have is;If it's on all five is it MD or die doubling?And would it add any value if it is a DDO,since it is just bullion? Report this Post to the Staff

I use a Cannon T5 Rebel.With the 18-55mm that comes with it.It's mounted on a cheap copy stand.I think I paid about $25. for it.The camera is set at 1:1 and I use axial lighting. Other than that...just a lot of practice. One of these days I hope to upgrade and get a stacking program. Report this Post to the Staff
MontCollector Pillar of the Community United States 2403 Posts	Posted 05/20/2016 2:57 pm I have seen this on the obverse and reverse (around eagle) on several of my ASEs. It is so common I don't think it is considered an error. I am no expert by far, however I think this could be on all EDS coins. Report this Post to the Staff
