Both cameras are challenging. I would suggest you ditch the I phone for coin photos. The sensor is very small and overloaded with pixels. This results in noise, making your coins look grainy. The Cyber-shot is marginally better. I don't know your model, it should have a macro setting( stylized flower symbol) Mount the camera on a tripod and use the optical zoom. The digital zoom will just amplify noise( the Cyber-shot will also produce a significant amount).
Read the cyber-shots instructions on how to set white balance.. ie learn to tell your camera how to see. Cameras need to be told what signals are white otherwise they guess and those guesses can be very wrong for coins.
Note: a tripod is not a great solution so don't rush out and get an expensive one. Tripod legs get in the way, they transmit and amplify vibration. To improve how a tripod performs: Get a more normally sized one( not a desk top). when you set it up get a large water bottle (full) and suspend it from under the tripod head( its not easy because you need to make sure it does not get in the way of taking pictures). The heavy bottle will act as a vibration damper. For such a point and shoot let it do the focusing so use Auto focus( from memory you may not even have the ability to manual focus.
