Hi All,

I am struggling to positively identify the two coins below. The first one is about the size of a silver threepence and the other is slightly bigger than a British silver sixpence. Any help is greatly appreciated.

First may be Richard II.

Second one was tough due to the wear but I think this may be it:
Henry II Short Cross Penny
(1180-1189) Spink 1344, Class 1b2, Mass 421
Rev: +RAVL.ON.NORh - Moneyer Raul at Northampton Mint

For a comparison of the reverses, here is yours with two other Henry II's:

I'm lost on the second, but I think bob is correct on the first.

legend: RICARD REX ANGL

a penny?

I'm out of my element here, so take that with a grain of salt.

Thank you for the recommendations gents (I'm assuming). It is much appreciated! I find these early hammered pieces particularly difficult!
