Sometimes there is a small amount of clear grease on that area near the rim on a coin. Try a toothpick and see if that is the case. If so, I would like the see the image of the clear grease disturbed for my educational files.

Well it doesn't happen all that often. Nothing that warrants a premium. But I've seen that a few times. The grease is usually clear in color and leave that line. Thanks for posting this as now I have images to share with others when this comes up again. (and it probably will)

No problem. I am somewhat new to the error community but I have learned so much because of you Coop and many others on this forum.. Now I enjoy helping people identifying what error they have. So after all that you guys have done for me, I'm glad I could do something to give back.

That was a good lesson. I'll remember that fine line. Funny how different stuff on a coin can fool us - even glue or stain and such.
