ALL of them are Japan 10 yen dated from 1951.

To determine the date, we need close-ups of the characters under the "10". The left two characters are the name of the emperor, the rightmost means "year", and the middle 2 or 3 characters are the reignal year of the emperor. The reign year is determined by a number times 10 plus another number.

Just to clarify, oriole means "dating from any time after 1951". They still make them. But your pics are too small to read the dates.

You might find this website handy. Just use the keypad to insert the characters as they appear on the coin, and it will spit out an AD date-equivalent.

@Sap, thanks for pointing out the website-I figured that there had to be something like this available. One interesting bit of trivia is that this coin continues to be minted in bronze, long after virtually every country has switched to copper-plated steel or zinc.

I don't see any that appear to be from before the 70s. There are a very select few better dates in the late 50s and early 60s, but these are circulation coins worth about 9 cents each.

Coins with reeded edges are older (1951-58) and worth *slightly* more (25-50 cents each).

They're worth 10 Yen in Japan, or roughly $0.09 :)

I furthermore suggest you have a look at these sites to determine the date, if that's so important to you: your pictures are lacking enough detail to be able to make anything of it.
