Any ideas? Looks authentic I think. A touch larger in diameter than.a half dollar and more thick with a beveled edge. Weighs 22.8g...

Looks like something from Alexandria to me, judging by the planchet.

Reverse is similar to Emmett 998, but the obverse facing in the other direction. Nice interesting piece.

Thanks guys. I've gone to a few sites and boy are there a ton of designs. Any way to narrow it down or find an info link to one or one for sale?

Echizento, got a link to that one? And what does it mean that it matches but different facing obverse? Variety or totally different coin? I would assume that the date period of the 998 would be the same period as this one?

I have a couple more I'll post when I get a second. One I think that's counterfit and one that is a quarter clipped piece similar to a piece of 8 with medieval on the envelope
