hmmm... yes commorerative coins in the value from 2000$+ to 69'000$ - how many collectors are out there? I feel priviledged to talk to everyone here on this blog - but I'm sorry 4 out of 9 coins (without subscriptions) above 2000$ - who can afford this?

Interesting the theory of "buy low, sell high" yet most often the opposite is practised.....by that I mean that gold prices have been quite strong of late and RCM's current focus on minting gold coins. Most likely they had the gold in their inventory when bullion prices were lower, a profitable strategy which obviously they're leveraging to the max.

Is the 1oz BigLeaf Maple Leaf (tear drop) similar to the dome shaped attachment on the Mother Earth coin?

@wildflowerAB

It is similar to the crystal rain drop coins that have come out in the past. It is not like the mother earth coin, the crystal is much smaller.

I like the $8 Yin Yang coin too as it will complement the similar 2007 coin though I'm afraid if may not be quite the same size.

It's also almost double the price of the 2007. Sure the mintage is lower and it's slightly more silver but ag spot was lower back in 2007. I don't see why the Mint thinks it should be double the price. I'm pretty sure the average person has not seen their salaries double in the past nine years.

I'm disappointed by the maze coin. I assume that is the one that some folks have been referring to as a 'puzzle'. Can't image spending hours getting a ball to roll around on my coin and through a maze.

I was hoping the puzzle might be something like this one:

2012 Penny jigsaw.

I actually like the maze coin with a backdrop of the red maple leaf. Then again, I am a sucker for odd looking coins. Lol

Pictures are on another forum (RFD). The maze coin looks like there should be a little ball with it in the plastic capsule. Way too many of the Coloured Maple Leaf Shaped coin, mintage of 15K at $155 each.

There is a little ball, and the RCM calls it...an "A-Mazing-Design".

I received the Impression catalogue today and could post pics but I doubt the mods here would be happy.

Thanks a lot, New1954, for update about release.

Some interesting, some overpriced, some boring.

Maple leaf Crystall Raindrop - unexpected resurrection, but doesn't look as good as 2008-2012 (the Leaf better take all the obverse space without additional elements), and 5 coins was enough basically.

"Maze" - bad idea

"Maple Leaf Shaped" with mintage of 15K after the almost same was already minted? Possibly some will jump on it...money maker for RCM without any theme or event to commemorate. Good for tourists.

What is the diameter and weight of the Yin Yang coin? The 2007 coin was 36 mm and 25.18 grams. Is this one larger/heavier?

From the list above, it's the only coin that elicits even mild interest from me. It could pair nicely with my 2007 piece.
