Hello, new to forum, so please excuse the ignorance.

Found this in a roll of quarters from my bank. I am not a collector, but I found this blank coin, and was hoping to find more information about it.

I guess it could be a fake made to fool vending machines, but that seems like more trouble than its worth.

In the last picture, it is hard to see, but there are two layers pressed together on the rim of the coin.

Lacks the copper sandwich of a clad quarter. Is it magnetic?

Looks like a punch out tab from an electricity junction box. Used to find these as a kid and draw my own "coin" designs on them using a marker.

Just checked. It is magnetic. Meaning, it sticks to a refrigerator magnet. What does this mean?

what is the weight of this and can you compare it to a Canadian quarter?

This is definitely not a USA blank coin (called a planchet) because USA coins are not magnetic. However it could be a Canadian blank Planchet, but we need weights and measurements to confirm.

Most likely this is just a piece of steel that someone put in to cheat the bank out of 25 cents.

Probably a slug from an electrical box.
