I am getting really tired of polar bear coins. I am wondering if the world still believes that we all live in igloos?

But yes.....I did receive them as part of my 25/25 FV subscription.

I'm thinking the Polar Bear has replaced the Beaver as the Canadian National Animal and nobody bothered to tell us. Yes, the igloo thing.....plus probably 99% of us have only ever seen a live one at a zoo.

Years ago, when I lived in Miami, many people I met actually believed that we Canadians all wear snow shoes to get around. No kidding.

I didn't know we had live igloos in Canada.

Haha, good one! I suppose live igloos in zoos would be a little like trying to sell ice cubes to an Eskimo!

Don't you all? Nothing to worry, as an example the world thinks swiss do eat nothing but cheese and chocolate and we all live in Chalets in the mountains... btw the Ski Chalet coin could have been done by the Swissmint in cooperation with RCM..

I am not sure about eating only cheese and chocolate - it impossible, but people there wear only traditional analog Swiss watch, not the digital ones.

In Canada, the Swiss are best known for their tasty rotisserie chicken.

And there is at least one coin proposed for 2017 with an igloo on it.

I can just imagine...Another First, get yours Now - the half oval! By halfing the cast for the Pysanka egg, filling it with segmented blocks that look like semi-translucent frosty ice and chopping out a little piece in front....much excitement I'm sure.

Great comebacks on the igloo comment.

Truly funny....all of you! I needed that laugh. Thank you for the lightheartedness and witty remarks:))))))))

That half oval coins sounds better than what is proposed - a collage of Canadiana - igloo, lighthouse, hockey sticks and puck, a couple of Canada geese, the Snowbirds, a whale, a maple leaf and an inushuk. Sorry, no polar bears. :)

There is also one with a Ski-Doo.

From the Talisman advertisement:

The Mint has imposed a limit of 5 per collector (go ahead, ask yourself why)! But we have no limit at the present.
High face value.
Limited mintage - only 1 in 150 Canadians can ever own one! (And what does that leave for the rest of the world?!?!)

Looks like extremely collectible, significant and valuable edition.

I just received mine today. Wow! A nice addition to my X for X collection. On a side note, there are fewer marks on the Queen's effigy compared to previous 20/25 for 20/25. The colored maples are high quality paint jobs - unlike the dot-matrix printed 150th transatlantic silver dollar.

Its a nice looking coin but I will pass.
The mint is getting carried away with certain themes.

I agree with you Darryl. I'm focusing on X for X primarily because for once in a long time I can manage the expenses....
