Hello,
I've managed to identify 1000s of coins but there is this one I completely don't know where is from.
It seems as it would be from an African Muslim country but I haven't had luck trying to find out exactly what that is.
I would appreciate your help.

It is an imitation arabic coin.
The hole tells it was used on the costume of a bellydancer.

Dead giveaways are:

1) Authentic gold coins of this style would rarely be so round, and would never have rims.

2) Such coins would be hammered, and usually have spots with "mushy" details where the blow was not distributed into the coin evenly by the die

3) Pretty sure that's not real Arabic

4) While most Islamic coins are holed to be sewn into clothing, this hole was drilled. Genuine coins would have had a hole punched with a nail, which would distort the metal around the hole.

Thank you so much for your time and effort.
I literally sorted 14 kg of world coins and that was the only one I had a problem with.
I will add it to my separate collection of tokens, medals and scrap crap

@petrus and @finn235, my initial thought was belly dancer token for some of the same reasons that you cite, but there is one aspect of this "coin" that is pushing me away from that conclusion. It seems to me that most of these tokens are really thin, so thin in fact that the same design is incuse on one side. This "coin"is substantially thicker and has separate designs on both sides. Why would you go to that trouble for a belly dancer token? Any thoughts?

If you do a forum search for "imitation ottoman algeria" you will find a couple dozen more or less identical "coins" posted on the forum before.

It may not literally be a "belly dancer token", but it is a jewellery imitation of an Ottoman coin, specifically, of a silver coin from 1800s Algeria.
