Hi everyone, I'm from Edmonton, Alberta, and I've decided to get back into coin collecting, I'm going to be picking up my collection from when I was a kid in the next few days, I'm mostly interested in Canadian coins, both circulation and NCLT, especially silver and nickel dollars.
While I wait to pick up my safes I've made my first coin purchases in ages the past couple days, a 5-pack of the new $1 Women's Right to Vote loonie straight from the mint, a nice circulated set of all 12 of the 2011 wildlife quarters, and an uncirculated 1970 Manitoba centennial nickel dollar.
I've already spent some time soaking up the knowledge here, I'm very excited to get back into coin collecting.

Welcome. I started with the same intention and history but have been sideswiped into small nickels & large pennies...maybe you can show a better focus..

I'll try, cdnmgt, but I can see how easy it is to get sidetracked in this hobby!

most of the new coins I would avoid I like the older Canada coins except I like to collect unc mint sets espically I luck out and got one of those error 2016 sets with a 2015 loonie in the set. I still like to go through my loose change for something unusual even thou its getting harder to fine anything because of the gov't alloy recovery program. I don't like most of what the mints produce because there is to much off it

to CCF - always nice to welcome another Canuck here... Also - Edmonton has a really strong coin club (Edmonton Numismatic Society). You should check it out sometime...
