I recently bought a 1973 Independence Bahamas 50 dollar gold coin after all the discounts I ended up paying $300 is this a good price as they seem to be 12 carat gold?

It seems to be too good a price. If I am finding the correct coin, this melts at $322 and only 18,000 were minted.
I would think $300 is a great price. Good for you.
